The All-Ukrainian Charitable Organization “Convictus Ukraine” with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation within the framework of the project “Equal Access to the Victims of Violence against Women” invites journalists from national and regional mass media to participate in the materials competition on the topic of violence against marginalized women (women, who have dependencies, sex workers, romances, homeless women). Deadline – November 1, 2018.

Participation in the competition is open to authors who have published material from January 1, 2018 to November 1, 2018.

The competent jury will determine one winner in the categories “Television and Radio”, “Printed Press” and “Internet Publishing”. The authors of the best materials will be invited to Kiev for a ceremony to award diplomas and material incentives, which will be held during the final conference of the project. For each place there is a remuneration of UAH 3,000.

The materials of the winners will be published on the web-resources of the UCO “Convictus Ukraine” with the name of the author. The awards ceremony will take place in November 2018.

Requirements:

• Materials must be prepared in Ukrainian, Russian or English;

• Publications should focus on the situation in Ukraine and the world, to show the real state of affairs and concrete examples of the problem of violence among marginalized women;

• Preference will be given to publications that not only streamline topics but also contribute to reducing the stigma and discrimination of women from marginalized populations;

• Texts provided by journalists and media representatives should be original and contain no borrowing.

To participate in the competition, it is necessary to enter data on the placed material in the registration form. The deadline for submission of materials is November 1, 2018 (18:00).

The winners of the competition will be chosen by an independent jury, which will include representatives of the VBO “Convictus of Ukraine”, “La Strada – Ukraine”, “Vozrozhdenie”, and other partner organizations.
