Convictus Ukraine specialists participated in the creation of the children’s book Become a Tuberculosis Researcher

We are pleased to present to you the children’s book “Become a Tuberculosis Researcher”, created by the Convictus Ukraine Specialists in coperating with Stop tuberculosis. Ukraine Partnership. The book’s author is psychologist Kateryna Pavlova, who has been actively studying the psychological features of the disease in adults and children for more than a year.

Let’s remember that the attitude towards health begins to form in childhood, and children are a reflection of the habits of the whole family and its attitude towards diseases.

The book will help children learn about tuberculosis and their immunity in the form of an adventure with many tasks.

Such literature is the first step in teaching children to take care of their health, to treat other children or adults with tuberculosis with respect and understanding, and always research the disease to avoid stigmatization due to lack of knowledge.

Due to its format, the book is a convenient assistant for parents and social workers. Together with the child and the main character, the owl Yasia, you will be able to uncover the cunning plan of Koch’s bacillus, go through the step-by-step path of strengthening immunity, make friends with your emotions and learn how to support TB patients.

Vivid illustrations by the artist Anna Madunova, coloring pages, and written and active tasks add the most effective consolidation of knowledge and skills.

The book can be used during individual and group work with children when you need to communicate about infectious diseases and your health.

The information presented in the book will not lose its relevance, and the child will always be able to return to it to remember the necessary exercise or reminder.
