Convictus Ukraine expands its cooperation with the Brovary City Council

Today, on 22, December, the Partnership Agreement aimed at combating trafficking in human beings, domestic and gender-based violence, as well as reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS and other socially dangerous diseases, was signed between the All Ukrainian Charitable Organization “Convictus Ukraine” and the Brovary City Council.

The solemn signing took place with the participation of Igor Saphozhka – Mayor of Brovary and Yevheniya Kuvshynova, Executive Director of “Convictus Ukraine”. The meeting was also attended by: Larysa Vynogradova, the Deputy Mayor of Brovary City Council, Alina Yarmolenko, Director of the Brovary City Center for Social Services for the Family, Children and Youth, Yuliya Tsarevska, Manager of the Project “Mobilization of internally displaced women against domestic and gender-based violence”, and Lidia Kozub, Director of the Center for Psychosocial Assistance “Convictus Ukraine”.

During the event, Igor Sapozhko and representatives of the All Ukrainian Charitable Organization “Convictus Ukraine” discussed the first steps in the implementation of the Agreement, opportunities for expanding cooperation between the city authorities and the public sector.

The Mayor of the city emphasized the importance and necessity of prevention of gender-based violence and socially-dangerous diseases in Brovary. Igor Sapozhko also took interest of the authorities in the transfer of the Center for Psychosocial Assistance to the provision and financing of the city, envisaged by the project “Mobilization of internally displaced women against domestic and gender-based violence”, and should become a logical extension of the support of the European Commission.
