Meeting on the results of the PITCH project in the first quarter of 2018
The working meeting on the results of the PITCH project in the first quarter of this year was held in the central office of the All Ukrainian Charitable Organization “Convictus Ukraine”. During the day, the managers and the function supervisors analysed the successful cases, shared their work experience, and planned the work for the next reporting period.
One of the main issues on the agenda was the monitoring system and the assessment of activity of the project. The discussions on the current state, process optimization and planning the reporting continued for more than an hour.
A key issue during the meeting was the discussion of the advocacy strategy of the organization, since project clients are constantly faced with stigma and discrimination. The managers and the function supervisors told about the last practice, shared the experience in solving the difficult situations, where there is a conflict of interests of vulnerable categories and the general public, discussed mechanisms for informing the authorities about the needs of dependent people. So, the mobilization of the IDU community and their relatives regarding the expansion of sites of substitution maintenance therapy in the cities of Kyiv region was discussed on the agenda.
Yevheniia Kuvshyova, the Executive Director of the All Ukrainian Charitable Organization “Convictus Ukraine”, focused on continuous documentation of successful cases within the PITCH project and opportunities for familiarizing the partners.
The event ended with a discussion of information and education campaigns dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of AIDS Dead.
The Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect HIV response (PITCH) helps people who are most affected by HIV to receive full and equal access to HIV and reproductive health services. The program strengthens the capacity of community organizations to support the rights of groups most affected by HIV, through active participation in advocacy, the gathering of a solid evidence base and the development of meaningful policy decisions.
