
People who take replacement therapy – the voice of the community must be heard
Our organization continues to advocate the needs of OST community representatives. Thus, during a working visit of the representatives of the Alliance of Public Health and Initiative 5% to the Demeevka area website, specialists from Convictus talked about the positive and effective experience of working with injecting drug users. This project was called “Capacity development for the implementation of high-quality gender sensitive interventions for harm reduction in Ukraine. Model “PROFIGENDER”.
The effectiveness of the work was also confirmed by the participants and participants of the program. They noted that in their lives, thanks to psychologist consultations, creative activities, training on sexual and reproductive health, there were positive changes. Therefore, representatives of the OST community have expressed the need for a new similar project that would allow more injecting drug users to engage in HIV / AIDS and hepatitis prevention.
Project “Capacity development for the implementation of high-quality gender-sensitive interventions for harm reduction in Ukraine. The “PROFIGENDER” model was implemented in 2017 with the support of the All-Public Health Alliance. The goal of the project is to ensure equal access of women, men and their sexual partners to gender-sensitive and quality HIV prevention and treatment services in Ukraine. The target group of the project is women who inject drugs.
