Residents of Vyshneve were tested for HIV

Today we held an action “Knowing your status – it’s modern!” in the city of Vyshneve.

Despite the cold weather, about 100 Vyshneve residents attended the information event. People asked about ways of HIV transmission interested in the prevention of disease, rapid testing of registration and provision of antiretroviral therapy to patients and others.

20 people were tested for HIV (none positive). Preventive work has reached over 100 people.

The event was part of the PITCH project. Partners were: ICF “Alliance for Public Health”, AHF Ukraine, Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky Center for Social Services.

The Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect the HIV Response (PITCH) help people most affected by HIV gain full and equal access to HIV and reproductive health services.

The program strengthens the ability of community organizations to support the rights of the most affected groups by actively participating in advocacy, gathering credible evidence base and developing meaningful policy decisions. PITCH is a strategic partnership between Aidsfonds, FrontAIDS and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. In Ukraine, the project is administered through the ICF “Public Health Alliance”.
