
Specialists of the #SOSChildren project took part in the two-day workshop “Strategic communications in advocating for the deinstitutionalization reform at the regional level”
Larysa Horina, psychologist of the #SOSChildren project and Daria Treshukova, coordinator of the #SOSChildren project in Dniprovsky district of Kyiv joined the two-day workshop “Strategic communications in advocating for the deinstitutionalization reform at the regional level” within the project “Right to Family: Addressing Systemic Gaps – Support to Child Welfare System Reforms in Albania, Belarus, Armenia, North Macedonia and Ukraine.”
Workshop objectives:
Engage the participants in testing of the key messages, which were developed for different target audiences and summarize the recommendations on using effective communication channels in the respective region;
Present the National Strategy to Reform the System of Institutional Care and Upbringing of Children for 2017-2026, demonstrate the gaps and barriers in its implementation to jointly find ways and opportunities to overcome them using communication methods;
Consider the opportunities to build a sustainable network of opinion leaders in the region, who would be able to use their reputation to change the attitude of the target audiences to deinstitutionalization of the childcare system.
The working meeting consisted of three parts:
Part 1. Improving the components of the communication strategy.
Part 2. Discussing the ways to promote the reform to deinstitutionalize the childcare system with the help of social media.
Part 3. Building strategic communications to implement the deinstitutionalization reform.
