Tuberculosis treatment in Ukraine: USAID Ukraine supports a TB center

Full-scale russian invasion affected many areas in Ukraine, in particular social sphere, including the situation with tuberculosis (TB). Now it is hard to talk about the scale of epidemiological impact of the war on TB detection and care. However, it is clear that Ukraine will later have to deal with its consequences.

International partners make a lot of efforts to mitigate the impact of the war on the TB detection in Ukraine and help the TB services to recover. On January 10, Kyiv Regional TB Center in Boyarka received NISSAN QASHQAI and FDR Xair (XD2000) portable X-ray unit (FUJIFILM, Japan) within the USAID Ukraine project “Support TB Control Efforts in Ukraine”. Besides, the center received a renovated and modernized X-ray mobile van with modern digital X-ray equipment.
