Winter and cold. Experiences of TB patients: Apostrophe TV

On the 21st of December, Apostrophe TV presented a new episode of the Apostrophe Health series.

The topic was Winter and cold. Experiences of TB patients.

Natalia Lytvynenko, Head of the Drug-Resistant TB Center, Director of the National Advanced Training Center of the National Institute of Phthisiology and Pulmonology named after F.G. Yanovsky told the viewers that cold and constant distress are bad for any infectious diseases, including TB.

However, she underlined that Ukraine has effective TB drugs, which allow for shorter TB treatment provided that patients follow all the doctors’ recommendations.

Despite the challenges related to power cutoffs and hostilities, patients are still able to seek help in primary health institutions, which can refer them for further examination in case they have any symptoms.
