Yevheniia Kuvshynova, Executive Director of the AUCO “Convictus Ukraine”, said that domestic violence was estimated to have increased by 40 percent during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Quarantine restrictions, reorientation of medical institutions to COVID patients – all this has led to the fact that vulnerable groups were left with limited access to primary diagnosis. The prevalence of domestic violence was growing. According to international estimates, the level of domestic violence during the pandemic has increased by 40%”, Ms. Kuvshynova said on Hromadske Radio.
More than 42,000 people from vulnerable groups receive assistance from AUCO “Convictus Ukraine” per year, said Yevheniia Kuvshynova.
